Meet the ORGANIZERS

  • Sarina Farb is a Midwest-based vegan educator, public speaker, and liberation activist working to make the world a better place for all beings. Being born and raised vegan in Kansas taught Sarina to think for herself and stand for justice even when it’s unpopular. Today Sarina focuses on combining heart and science to empower individuals to think critically, see past corporate propaganda, and live ethically.

    As an independent activist and community organizer, her projects include speaking, researching, and creating content for her Born Vegan platform, touring the country in her vegan van and speaking to university students, hosting the Science is Gray Podcast, organizing local community events as founder and director of the Lawrence Area Vegan Association, and now leading the Vegan Earth Day March.

    She is also a member of the American Vegan Society Speakers Bureau, and co-founded and organized the 2020 Climate Diet Summit.

    Sarina previously spent several years teaching high school chemistry and environmental science in Kansas City and holds degrees in biochemistry and policy studies from Grinnell College. She is passionate about bringing nuance and ethics into the conversation about science in society. Her work and writings have been featured in numerous publications and books.

  • Chelsea V Davis is passionate about vegan advocacy, building community, and climate, social, and food justice. In addition to being the co-founder of the International Vegan Earth Day March, she is the founder of the #VeganNightMarket & co-founder of Animal Rights Collective Portland (ARCPDX).

    Chelsea brings her experience from organizing 100s of virtual & in-person events including the #VeganNightMarket, protests, marches, VegFests, international health & animal rights conferences, summits, panels, activism tours, fundraisers, the Master Veg Program, legislative actions & more.

    She regularly speaks on effective communication and activism, climate change, animal rights, nontoxic living, plant-based cooking, among other topics.

    Chelsea is also the owner of The Roaring Vegans, an admin of the largest vegan Facebook group in the PNW, a contributor on Unchainedtv, and active in several animal rights and social and food justice campaigns.

    Chelsea resides in Portland, OR with her hunter turned vegan activist husband & their rescue pup.

Sailesh Rao
Climate Healers

  • Dr. Sailesh Rao is the Founder and Executive Director of Climate Healers, a non-profit dedicated towards healing the Earth’s climate. He is a systems engineer, Human, Earth and Animal Liberation (HEAL) activist, husband, dad and since 2010, a star-struck grandfather. He has promised his granddaughter, Kimaya, that the world will be largely Vegan before she turns 16 in 2026, so that people will stop eating her relatives, the animals. He has faith that humanity will transform to keep his pinky promise to Kimaya, not just for ethical reasons, but also out of sheer ecological necessity. He has created a Climate Bathtub model to help humanity understand the solution space for reversing climate change and enabling a thriving planet.

Paige Parsons Roache
UnchainedTV

  • Vegan for the past 8 years, Paige brings environmentally conscious living forward. After watching the documentary COWSPIRACY, she went vegan on the spot. Her daughter Katelyn, 13 at the time, choose veganism for the animals 6 months earlier. Paige, after being shocked by the amount of water it takes to put a hamburger on a plate or to have a lick of icecream, plus learning that animal agriculture is a leading cause of deforestation and climate change, chose to go vegan “for the environment.” Soon after, she attended her first pig vigil with LA Animal Save/Animal Save Movement. Once she looked those baby pigs in the eyes, she knew she had to do work to save animals. Cooking as a guest chef on LunchBreakLIVE on UnchainedTV global streaming network, after meeting founder Jane Velez-Mitchell at VegFestLA in 2017, Paige became a Contributor/Reporter with UnchainedTV. Reporting on all the latest animal rights’ aspects, including The Save Movement’s pig/chicken/cow vigils, various PETA protests, VegFests, and vegan conferences. Shortly thereafter, Paige became the Sr. Booker for LunchBreakLIVE, as well as for Jane’s weekly podcast. Paige was the Associate Producer on the award-winning New Day New Chef cooking show on Amazon Prime. Soon after, as Communications Director of UnchainedTV, she supported multiple media launches. In 2020, Paige and her partner Sherri launched the Plant Based In the ‘Burbz lifestyle brand, which includes a cooking show, showing simple swap outs and easy recipes to inspire people to bring more plants on their plates. In addition, she works closely with Gwenna Hunter, the first Black woman to launch a vegan food bank in America, whereby serving thousands plant-based healthy food monthly. Renee King-Sonnen
Rowdy Girl Sanctuary

  • Renee King-Sonnen, Rowdy Girl Sanctuary's Founder and Exec. Director has been on the forefront of Animal Rights Activism internationally. She is consistently sought out to tell their story of former Texas Cattle Ranchers turned vegan at Vegfests, Animal Rights Rallies and Vegan Celebrity events. Their story went viral on CBS Evening News in 2016 and that media event launched an international following and fan base that has propelled Rowdy Girl into the forefront as a leader in the Animal Rights Movement. In 2016 she won the VegNews prestigious "Vegan Rookie of the Year" Award. No longer a rookie, Renee's voice can be heard on podcasts, news stories, documentaries and magazine interviews all over the world. Their story has been translated in 9 or 10 languages. As a result of their notoriety, farmers and ranchers started reaching out to her and as a result Rowdy Girl’s major programming is the Rancher Advocacy Program where she is currently the impetus for a chicken farm transition to Exotic Mushrooms in Wickes, Arkansas. And we are currently featured in a documentary called Rowdy Girl.

Eloísa Trinidad
Chilis On Wheels

  • Eloísa Trinidad (she/her) Eloísa is an award-winning policy advocate, liberation and food activist, educator, and artist. Her path toward activism and Veganism started early in life. She was raised by centenarians who lived off the land, taught her to be self-sustainable, and passed down much ancestral knowledge to her. This shaped her views of justice and empathy for all Beings, protection of our sacred home–Earth, and the belief in the healing power of plants, sharing, and community. As an AfroIndigeous Latina woman, she approaches liberation praxis and Veganism with an anti-colonial framework to raise awareness of how Western colonization has impacted and continues to affect the plight of human and beyond-human persons (animals). And how it has changed the food system and our relationship with each other and the natural world. She is Executive Director at Chilis on Wheels, where she works to make Veganism accessible to communities in need through policy, education, mentorship, and direct food relief, and founder of Vegan Activist Alliance, a systems change-focused, community-driven, anti-speciesist, anti-colonial organization founded on the belief that all Beings have a natural right to their autonomy and to live free from oppression regardless of species. In addition, Eloísa works with various coalitions and organizations as an advisor to develop community-informed strategies and policies to transcend poverty, mitigate climate breakdown, and transform our food system.

Christopher Eubanks
APEX Advocacy

  • Christopher “Soul” Eubanks is a social justice advocate, creative and public speaker raised in Atlanta, Ga that has dedicated himself to doing advocacy work that advocates for collective liberation. After learning the horrors of animal exploitation, Christopher became vegan, began doing community organizing and helped to co-organize Atlanta’s first ever animal rights march. Christopher is the founder of APEX Advocacy, a non profit animal rights organization that develops grassroots activism and various campaigns to empower Black, Indigenous People of color to advocate for animal rights.

Laila Kassam
Animal Think Tank

  • Laila is a founder and director of Animal Think Tank (https://www.animalthinktank.org.uk/) a grassroots organisation using 'momentum driven organising' to build a mass movement for Animal Freedom in the UK. She is co-editor of the book ‘Rethinking Food and Agriculture: New Ways Forward’ (https://inclusiveresponsibility.earth/) which envisions a truly just and sustainable food system. She is also a co-founder of the Veterinary Vegan Network (https://www.facebook.com/veterinaryvegannetwork) and Ethical Globe (https://www.ethicalglobe.com/). Laila has been involved in social change for most of her career having previously worked in the international development sector for 15 years, working with NGOs, foundations, government ministries and international research institutions. Her work focused on conducting research on poverty and food security for rural development projects in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Laila has a PhD in Development Economics (SOAS), an MSc in Development Management (LSE) and a BSc in Economics and Politics (Bristol).

  • Nivi Jaswal is an intersectional vegan advocate and social entrepreneur in the Greater Boston area. She founded The Virsa Foundation Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit and the JIVINITI Research Program after healing her chronic illness through a “whole food plant-based” lifestyle. In addition to holding a BA (Psychology, Sociology), an MBA (Consumer Behavior Marketing) and extensive international brand management, product innovation, corporate strategy and communications experience in the consumer packaged goods, medical devices and media & research sectors, Nivi is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) trained at the Mayo Clinic and a Lifestyle Medicine Coach certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Passionate about developing creative multidisciplinary intersectional content and designing unique research collaborations aimed at communities of color in the U.S., South Asia and elsewhere, Nivi is currently mentoring student interns from Harvard University and is a Mindich Engaged Scholarship 'Challenge Lab' partner of Havard's 1st Semester-long course on Food Systems Transformation. She is also an advisor to the Cambridge Climate Society, Cambridge University, U.K. Having lived in 7 diverse corners of this beautiful planet and traveled to over 47 countries, Nivi thrives in spaces that are culturally and linguistically diverse, and learns from immersive experiences. Her creative intersectional acrylics-on-canvas have been exhibited in Singapore, Malaysia and the Greater Boston area.
